I was at a show and bought a 50 ft roll of superflex 4 conductor 4 color Lionel wire and I don't know who the vendor was. A buddy of mine would like to get a roll or 2 of that for himself, so he can extend his controllers a longer ways away from the switches. Does anyone happen to know who sells that wire ?

I use Cat 3 or Cat 5 wire.
If you are talking about wire between the switch and the controller, for years I have used telephone 4 stranded wire. I just bought two 50' rolls of it at my local hardware store for around $7 a roll. It has 4 strands color coded and Ross and Gargraves motors need only three. I do not use the more complex Z stuff switch motors. They may require more wires per switch. Bill
I also use four conductor phone wire. Works great for my Fastrack controllers because the colors match. I just leave the factory wire connected to the controller and run the phone wire to the switch using a terminal strip to connect them.
Thanks for the info. I did find the wire for him but not a lot so he will also look at phone wire. I will look at phone wire and cat3 wire and terminal strips when the time comes.
