I'm building a coal breaker model that has these roof ventilators on the top of one of the buildings. Does anyone know what kind of vents these are, and is there anywhere I can get them in O scale?

Can you give us a rough idea of the prototype size of these vents?? Not sure if I can judge this well enough from the photo.
Thx...

Unfortunately, the building that they were on is no more. I do know that there were six of these vents spanning a roof about 115 feet wide.
OK, fair enough...
So, using my hairy-eyeball-and-extended-thumb technique, the vents look to be about as far apart from each other as they are wide at their base. With that assumption we would have 6 vents and 7 spaces across the 115-foot span. 115'/13 is about 9'.
And the vents look to be a bit taller than they are wide at the base....say 12 feet?
So, 9'x9'x12'?....or 2.25" square by about 3" tall in 1:48.
Hmmmm......
HOLY MOLY 'em is big vents!!!!!
Methinks you're looking at some scratchbuilding? ....or finding a reasonable facsimile of such a vent typically made for the larger scales??....G, or #1???
Since you need multiples, I'm sure one of our talented forumites could create a master, a mold, and as many resin copies as you need......for a price, of course. The thin fin (weather vane) could be an added part to simplify the whole process. The square-to-round base of the vents looks to be common. The louvered top could be made separate to provide a variety of vent orientations. Sounds like an interesting project.
Wish I could be of more help.
Yo!....anyone else to help WB???? Hello????

I've seen those on someone's retail web site. They are out there. Wish I could remember.
WB TRainman,
Under the name Westport Model Works I created and sold models of this vent. Several years ago I sold my inventory to Scenic Express. I would recommend you give them a call and see if he has any left.
