I'm thinking of adding some construction equipment to the layout. This would be for excavating for buildings, roads, track, etc., you get the picture.

Big earth movers such as 'pans', dozers, Euclids would not fit the theme - too big.

Backhoes, front end loaders, dump trucks would be more what I'm looking at.

Which looks better? 1/43; 1/48; 1/50; or 1/64. Confused

Do keep in mind that $20 per copy is not in the budget Big Grin

Amherst show is a week away and I'll be looking there. Looking being the operative word here. Big Grin

Thanks for looking and your help

Be of good cheer, What you want was at the Amhearst show last year.
3rd row middle pic in the link above.
I'm not sure about pricing tho.
I paid more that you quote for the one piece of Heavy equipment I bought but I feel it's well worth what I paid. Cable/Clutch controlled Bulldozers seem rare in our scale.
Had to have it, that's what mt dad used to run for the county.
I will have to repaint it tho, the County painted everything a pale orange.
Maybe I can just subject it to lots of UV and fade it, it's Red...
Now to get the shovel on the top Rt pic...
At first I had 1/43, 1/48 and some 1/50 vehicles on my layout, but to me they seemed lost in the scenery. I am a car guy, so I tried some 1/32 vehicles and they pop. I find that 1/32 scale vehicles look good on my layout, so the smaller scale vehicles were sent into the background.

So I would advise you that to draw attention to certain vehicle scenes on your layout, consider larger scale items up front for viewers.

All of the vehicles in these photos are 1/32 scale.
