i recently did a short hike into the forest about ten miles south of Whistler, British Columbia, I had heard rumors from the locals about a train that had derailed in the forest back sometime in the sixties. It is not an officially documented hike, in fact the local authorities discourage it due to the necessity of walking along and over tracks. But it is worthwhile if only for the very surreal scene of six or seven freight cars deep in the woods, seventy-five feet from the tracks and hanging over a rushing river.
The local artists have clearly been at work in this serene setting.
