Have an area that I have neglected to finish, but know I want a conifer forest. I'll make my own except those close to track and front of layout. Those in view close-up, I would like to use commercial trees. But who makes the best looking ones? The pictures I've seen of Woodlands, Heiki, etc. doesn't show much closeup details, and if they look as amateur as some I have called up, I just may make my own. Thanks ahead for any help.

Check out forum sponsor Scenic Express. They have lots, from different manufacturers, some better than others. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it comes at a price.
Too bad you didn't bring this up earlier in the week. They just had a 15% off sale on the 4th, but it was just the one day. It pays to get their emails. I suspect the next one will be Labor Day. That's how they usually roll.

Frank, please post a photo or two your timber felling scene also. It’s very nice to demo tree elements.
Yup Frank, those are the best I've ever seen.
Real nice to read that from you, Big Boy. Here was my inspiration...
I thought I knew what a forest looked like, but I figured I had better go check one out first, especially as it concerned the lower foliage that kept-company with the trees.
So, I went to a favorite hiking area, just outside Cortland, NY, along Brake Hill Road, and this is what I found...
I just sat there, for a couple hours, and learned; then, I went home and took some artistic-license and made my forestry scenes....

Thanks. Pics helped and I placed an order (couple in fact). Best
You could do it yourself. Lots of great videos on youtube. This is just one of them.
