why is switching clicking | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi, Newbie here. I am wondering why switching section keeps clicking. Might I have a short?

If this is a non-derailing switch, something is probably triggering both directions. How about the exact switch and switch machine we're talking about?

Remote control switch No. 5122 for 027. I have mixed together some O-27 and O gauge. Thanks for your reply.

Does it keep chattering if you disconnect the switch control?

Remember, you need a plastic insulating pin in the track for the inside rails for that switch or that's what will happen.

At the two places indicated, you need plastic pins to insulate that short rail on the switch from the rest of the rails. Those are the non-derailing control rails.
