Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had problems loading engines onto your tablet or android phone? My phone can't find the TIU, so I can't get to load any engines on the program. I want to say that both phone and tablet have the downloaded program, and I paid the 5.95. The tablet finally finds the engines after the 3rd or 4th try. It also has given me the can't find TIU pop up to. But when I am lucky to download one. ( I have three so far) They go into inactive file on my tablet and I can't find a way to bring them into the active roster to run them. I have two loops of DCS running and powered through my TIU. All my engines are Proto 2. The switch is in the Mikes mode for the WiFi, not connected to my home router. Any help would be a blessing as I like running the engines with my tablet which is a Samsung Galaxy. Ed

Ed,
It's absolutely essential that you have the latest app version (1.2) on the phone and the latest firmware version (1.1) on the WIU. If not, you will experience errors such as you describe.
You get the latest app version by updating your device via Apple's App Store or Google Play. You can get the WIU firmware update here.
Thanks Barry. I have the 1.2 version on the android phone and both my Samsung Tablet and my Apple I-Pad. It still is acting up. Anything else you could suggest? ED

Thanks again Barry for all your help. I did what you suggested. I-Pad and Samsung Galaxy work fine. Still having problem with my phone. If I cant run the trains with my phone. At least the other two work. ED
Barry, the wiu.. do I connect it to my laptop to update the firmware? What is the process ? Mine says version 1.0..
Chris,
do I connect it to my laptop to update the firmware?
Yes.
What is the process ?
Refer to the Full Instruction Manual on MTH's web page for the WIU and refer to the section regarding LuCI for directions.
Mine says version 1.0.
Then it definitely needs to be updated.
George,
Possibly an early prototype or mockup WIU.
Where did you get the picture?
Barry,
It is for a new one that is for sale on eBay. I think you are right, but it's odd that someone is using such an old picture.

barry, I looked on the box it came in and a sticker was on it saying firmware updated to 1.1. so I think I am good. did MTH do that? or the place I bought it from? the bottom of the WIU says 1.0. but I guess they pulled most of them and updated the firmware. thanks for the info!
Chris,
MTH updated a bunch of WIUs 1st quarter of last year before they shipped them to dealers.
If you're having issues, I'd at least use LuCI to see what level of firmware is in the WIU.
