Hi Brice,

Without assuming anything, I would like to offer some advice that may help with your issue and if not, maybe help us identify a bug if it exists.

The latest release of the app (last week) includes a new feature for turning the playable whistle on and off.  If you tap on the whistle pull the rope will toggle between white and purple.  White is regular whistle and purple is playable. 

As you probably already know, if the engine is in one mode and the app in the other, no whistle sounds are played.  Unfortunately, the app has no way to know what mode the engine is in.  So, if you leave the app in playable mode (purple rope) and then power up an engine that defaults to regular whistle mode, the control won't work.  When you are having trouble with a playable whistle, try toggling it back and forth to make sure the engine and app are synced.

Next, and again, you probably have experienced this but, the playable whistle isn't perfectly responsive all the time.  It's difficult to switch between levels rapidly.  As a suggestion, maybe try "playing" the whistle a little more slowly and deliberately.  This may help mitigate some issues as well.  Some engines are more responsive than others.  We've continued to improve this but, some early engines can be more sluggish.

I don't have an answer for how the playable whistle could cause an engine to accelerate out of control but, would certainly like to understand more about that.  We haven't heard about that issue previously.

This feature has always worked for me this way before the updates last week. I thought this was common knowledge about quillable whistle changing modes and rope colors with the double tap. My secondary android device still has the old app version and this feature works as you have described.

I have had the problem with the Engine accelerating while toggling the whistle mode only because my finger on the small screen touched the speed dial at about 75 and away it goes.

Yes H1000, you are correct.  The playable toggle on the main screen was originally released previously.  Thanks for clarifying.  There was an issue wherein the playable was not being turned off reliably from the double tap on the pull.  This has been corrected.

First, let me say how much I appreciate MTH RD taking the time to review these problems and offer solutions. (As well as folks like Barry)

I started by refreshing the app and activating all the engines (6) using the all engines feature. Two of the six already whistle rope’s were purple and quilled just fine. (Using a more deliberate slow pace) The other four, I had to toggle the Quillable switch off, use the rope to activate the whistle, then toggle the Quillable switch on. The rope was purple after this and worked fine. This is the first operating session I’ve had where I did not loose control of an engine while utilizing the Quillable whistle mode. 

I shut down all of the engines, cut power to the track and started them up again using the above starting method. Two of the engines I had to toggle through the ‘on-off’ method as discribed above before the feature worked, however I did not loose control of any engines.  Some of the engines (random) whistle sound volume is reduced in Quillable mode.
