Does the Williams 40608 0 gauge Southern Pacific Baldwin #2374 have a switch under the right side of cab to lock in forward. I have the B&O #1357 which has the switch but my A.T.&S.F. #464 does not. I don't want to purchase the Southern Pacific unless I can lock it in forward. Appreciate any help I can get before purchasing. Thanks.

Bobby,
My SP 2374 sure does. I took a pic of the underside of the cab and instructions.

Very much appreciate your positive and prompt response. Pictures were great too! Plan to order one tomorrow.
That is a nice looking unit i am thinking about getting. What do you think of the smoke making ability? I’ve seen different opinions about Williams smoke units.
Answered in another thread.
I am happy with the smoking ability of my other two Williams 2-6-0's, not overwhelming smoke like some MTH models but better than than many of the Lionel models priced about the same.
How are you enjoying your Williams Baldwin(s) after a bit more than a years. I see from another thread several posters generally prefer the "smoking capabilities" of the MTH and Lionel steamers.
As my first train set around the Christmas tree recedes farther into the rear view mirror, a little less smoke, at times, has been a bit refreshing!
Of course, being able to shut the smoke unit off, plus excellent smoke generation, provides much greater flexibility. Even better for some Lionel steamers that allow you to control the smoke generation.
Great to know the differences in smoke generation, though, and, the added very informed opinions are alway helpful!
If you're a smoke fan, I'm sure you'll like the capabilities of the MTH or Lionel steam better in that regard. I believe these still have the anemic Seuthe smoke unit. The Seuthe puts out wimpy continuous smoke, nothing like the more realistic chuffing smoke in generous quantities of the other brands mentioned.
I have 2 Williams 4-6-0 engines, and I really like them. Realistic speed, reliable. They smoke less than a fan-driven unit, but smoke enough for me. JohnA
I really like my B&O. Smoke just pours out for a minute or so. It doesn't chuff. But I still like it, especially the looks. Pulling power is OK. Occasionally it stalls going over a switch slowly or at least the headlight blinks. Pickup roller spread issue over some switches. I tested it on Fastrack and Marx switches. Not a deal breaker.

John,
Which road names did you choose, and, do you have a preference between the two? Thanks!
And, of course, thanks to the above posters too.
One is Santa Fe, repainted for Canadian Pacific, and the other is NYC, which I plan on changing some details and painting Canadian National. I have no preference between the 2. JohnA
I have three (3) Williams 2-6-0's: Sothern Pacific; B&O; and ATSF. Has anybody tested if the tenders work/interchangeable with different Williams 2-6-0?
The Williams 4-6-0 tenders are interchangeable- the electronics inside are identical. To be clear I am talking about Williams (Baldwin) 4-6-0s ONLY. JohnA
