I am thinking about buying a Williams Bachman 027, Alco FA-2, Santa Fe, which comes with a dummy unit. The set is a bit pricey for me.
But, I don't run and have no interest in running dummy units.
If I bought this set, does anybody have an idea of what a reasonable sale price range for the dummy unit would be? I would put it up for sale immediately, NIB.

Another option would be to keep it, motorize it, and have a 2nd powered unit. You could always paint it another road name.
Inasmuch a pair of FA's (one powered & one dummy) in common road names like Santa Fe seem to be selling for (Prices from eBay "sold" listings and large discount retailers prices) $120 - $245 with about $200 for the pair most prevalent, and dummy "A" units being not very desirable; I would think somewhere in the $50 - $75 range would be fair for a dummy A unit in a common road name. This is just my opinion as I've not sold any in over 3-5 years when I let them go for $20-$25 each and was happy to get that much.
