Hello,

I recently acquired a couple sets of Williams 80' passenger cars for my S1 and Dreyfuss Hudson to lug around.  The plan is to add interiors and upgrade the lighting to LEDs - which leads me to my question.

I have a couple strips of LEDs on the way and am planning on getting lighting regulators (https://hennings-trains.shopli...regulator-2-pcs.html) for each.  I believe I understand how to wire these up, save for finding the positive and the negative wire coming from the roller and truck on the car.  These Williams cars only have one wire coming in on each end.  How would I go about connecting these to the lighting regulator?

First off, if you're using the LED regulators, the wheels and roller connect to the AC connections on the regulator, and the polarity doesn't matter.  The DC+ obviously connects to the + side of the LED strip and the DC- connects to the - side of the LED strip.  With the Williams cars, the frame is the "wheels" connection.  Also note that the LED regulator works with AC or DC input track power of either polarity.

Note that since the regulator module employs a full-wave rectifier from track power, do not ground either of the DC outputs of the regulator, neither of them are at AC (frame) ground.  For your convenience, I've attached the documentation for the lighting regulator.
