Wire Size Used Inside Locos

Have to do a repair to a LionChief engine, though would think this question will apply to a engines. What is the size/gauge of the multi strand wire used off of most pc boards? Wire keeps breaking to the LionChief drawbar because it’s too short, want to make longer or replace. Thanks for any responses.
