I am using 3 rail Atlas O track with MTH DCS. I would like to know if it makes any difference which outside track you wire the common black wire to? I know that the hot red wire goes to the middle rail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you Tom

Note that if you want both outside tracks common, you have to wire both of them with Atlas track. This frequently helps smaller locomotives that only have four wheels, like the RMT BEEP, an 0-4-0 switcher, etc.
Also nice to save the opposite outside rail for control functions. Life is full of trade-offs.
