I am planning on adding a second TPC300 to my layout.

I was in contact with a Lionel technician who told me that as long as I connected the 2 data lines together i should not have a problem. But I was wondering if the COMMs need to be tied together also?

So i drew up a schematic with this explnation of what I am trying to do.

If someone could review it and let me know if it is correct.

The right handles of the Z4000's will operate in command mode when the switch is in the  "closed" postion, and operate in conventional when the switch is in the "open" position.

The left handles will run the trains in conventional mode with the lhe Lionel Legacy Remote through the TPC300's.

Not 100% sure I understand your situation nor am I a full expert. I am sure others will fill in as well.

Both data and comm should be daisy chained to all TMCC devices on the layout from the Command Base

BUT, the TPC allows you to run conventional in a TMCC/Legacy environment. The CAB controls the operation of the train. You would set one TPC to TMCC and the other one to Conventional. There are instruction on how to do this during the setup process. When you wish to run conventional, you select the correct TPC and shutting down the TMCC TPC and go with it.

IF it is the handles you wish to use to control the trains, then that is a different story. Then you would need a by-pass switch and wire it into the layout similar to what you have done. However, I am not sure in this case why you would need TPCs.
