I have a rebuilt ZW transformer going to a TUI unit and the to a track block aeventually to lionel standard O gauge track. I understand tha the ZW probably does not havefuses in it to protect transformer a TUI so I have installed Eaton Miniature Circuit Breakers (p/n FAZ-C3/1-SP) between the transformer and the TUI. The circuit breakers are rated at 3A C 15kA 1 pol. Hive one for each lead on the transformer. When I turn on the power it only takes a few seconds to throw the breaker. Is thecircuit breaker to small or do I have other track problems. I have found that I have no resistance in the track when checking for continuity. Please help me resolve my situation by return postings on the forum. Thanks.

Are there any trains on the track when the breaker trips?

Even one bulb in one switch or accessory will indicate "no resistance" with a continuity checker.

Yes a couple of unhooked cars and an MTH SW-1 switcher I Am trying to recognize on my DCS remote.
Remove items. Test again to see if the breaker drops. If it does, you have track or wire or tui issues. if the breaker holds....
Try with engine only. Trips? Either breaker is too light or you have an engine issue.
or ..You could add up bulbs to a 3a draw (+/-.5a-1a) to see where they drop out.
3a seems kinda light to me for a fast blow breaker, but I don't know what the tui will let pass there total either.
Motors have peaks that need some elbow room before a breaker trips. Thermal breakers do a nice averaging job, allowing quick peaks to fade.
High speed electronic breakers or magnetics want to cut off at the first sign of overage, so should be chosen above the max ever used by a train+track, 3.75-5.75a .minimum would be more like it. Passenger cars too? Leds or bulbs? Amps used get added, from .25a bulb to 5.25a. motors ..still not half of what you have on tap. Lionel #91 breakers magnetic breakers are adjustable
