Since electrical is my weak area, I could use some help with wiring multiple 153IRs to crossing gates for bidirectional operation. I have read the old and new version of the 153IR manual, but it does not cover my scenario. Due to proximity of turnouts, I don't think insulated rails are an option, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
In one area i need to detect a train from three directions and the other from two directions. The crossing gates are 6-14098 Lionel Mainline Auto Crossing Gates with three wires. All detectors and gates will have power supplied by auxiliary power.
At the top of the picture is the gate and the two detectors. The old version of the 153IR manual has a diagram for the 5 wire gates, not the three wire.
At the bottom of the picture there are three detectors that need to activate the gate. The furthest left one on the crossover will also activate the Ambush Shack right next to it.
Could someone please provide me with wiring diagrams for these scenarios?
If these scenarios require relays, etc, please also provide part numbers so I can purchase.
Would Z-Stuff detectors and relay be a better option than the 153IR?
Thank you in advance for the help.
