First, I will confess my wiring skills are severely limited. I have a Lionel 3356 the Horse car with corral, and a Lionel 364C Contactor Switch.
I downloaded and printed Lionel's instructions for the 3356 and followed the wiring diagram there. I also looked at the wiring diagram in the Greenberg 1945-1969 Repair and Operating Manual.
There is power to the corral because the horses vibrate and move around the corral. However, when the horse car doors are lined up properly , and I flip the switch, the doors do not open. All the connections are secure. Nothing is loose.
The Lionel diagram seems to show that a wire should run from the corral platform to the 364C switch and then to the contractor, AND also run to the Transformer (power supply).
The Greenberg diagram shows a wire running from the corral platform through the 364C controller/switch to the contactor.
What I have done, perhaps stupidly, is run a wire from the contactor to the switch, connecting it to switch post A. I have also connected to switch post A, a wire running from the corral platform to the 364C controller/switch. So, I have two wires attached to Post A on the controller/switch. Attached to Post B of the 364C switch/controller is a wire running to track power/transformer.
Can someone describe, in very simple terms, how to properly wire the 3356 with the 364C?
Thanks.
