My new yard addition is at the opposite end from my power setup. Using the Ross remote switch buttons: can I join all (10) the switches middle AC power line together ("star" wiring?) and just run one line (to save wire) to the power source of 14V on my DCS layout loop? Also, any problem with utilizing solid with some and stranded wire with others of the same gauge? I'm thinking 18 or 16 gauge for power (22ft), maybe 22 ga. for the pair of wires from the switch to the buttons for each switch.

I think you're talking about the switch machines, not the switches themselves. You can run a single line of 14VAC to the area (terminal block, etc...) and then split it to each switch machine. The buttons need to stay separate, because the button is what completes the clrcuit. There's no issue with using stranded and solid together, but it may create some resistance. For this application though, thats probably not of any concern.
