I received this gateman as a gift and I use Fastrack. I have the 6-12029 Fastrack operating track. If you are familiar with this gateman there are 3 spring clips. The black wire from the track goes in the front clip. The problem is the gauge of the wire is too thick to fit in the small spring clip that is used. The black wire with white tracer is supposed to connect to the back clip which already has a red wire attached to it and there is no way the wire from the track will fit here either. I solved the problem of putting the wires through the 2 holes on the gateman by rounding them out a little to fit the wire through. I thought of trying to widen the spring clip openings but didn't know if it would damage the clip. I think a larger clip should have been used to accept the gauge of the Fastrack wire. I would appreciate any help with this issue.

Have you seen this video?  I would think 18-22 gauge wire would be fine and should fit. No, don't mess with the Fahnestock clips, they won't work as nicely once you mess with them. Edit: I can see that Mike had the same problem. It appears that 20-22 gauge wire is needed. This is telephone cable with the outer sheath removed. Use the wire inside. You could also use a data cable (Cat5 or 6). You would need to tin the ends of stranded wire. You can see Mike twisting the wire in the video a lot to make it work.
