I'm making good progress on my pink foam plateau. Being a first effort there are some gaps of up to 3/8" that I need to fill in around my Lionel tunnel portals and also where part of the plateau meet up. Woodland Scenics Foam Putty sounds like it might be the right solution to filling these gaps. Anyone used it? Any other suggestions? My other idea is lightweight spackling applied in multiple layers for the larger gaps.

Scraps are my plan B. Ideally would like to find something a little quicker/easier. I'll check out Sculptamold. I have some moldable wood epoxy putty that would work but it's crazy expensive so I try to reserve it for use on the wood paddleboards I build. Rolled newspaper wouldn't work since I'm not using a plaster cloth hardshell. It's just stacked layers of pink foam. It's a plateau/mesa so near vertical walls are acceptable.
