Hi, I’ve used hydracal white for my rock mold making. Is there a product that when I remove it from the mold it is still flexible? I’m building a rock wall behind my 3 foot tressel and it we’ll have 2 areas with curves.
I've used the rubber molds and also made my own from crumpled up tin foil. If you want to try the tin foil, what you could do would be to make the basic shape and angle you want in the foil and then support it underneath (books, old newspapers, whatever).
Start with a thin/flexible mold. Fill with plaster Just after it starts to set (so the plaster doesn't run out), slap the whole thing up against your underlying structure. Peel the mold off after the plaster sets. Crumple up some aluminum foil, use as a mold to fill in gaps. Practice!
