I know this link has been posted on a few modeling / train forums... but, I haven't seen or can find that it has been posted here.  So, for anyone who has not already looked at this site, there are a LOT of great scenery photos to get your creative juices flowing.  For most of the pictures, if you click on the picture, it will take you to a second webpage showcasing that specific modeler.

WOW!  I just skimmed through a dozen or so pages in each link.  I now know what I'm going to be doing this weekend.

Thanks, Bob!

you are so right about trolls, bob. I've followed a couple of his builds and they are amazing. so is the work of his friend frederic testard. last year I followed a thread of Frederic's in which he built a diorama for trolls. now, that takes nerve but the man was more than up for it. I almost gave up modeling after seeing that one!

i just skimmed some of the names on Todd's links (I willdefinitely spend a good deal more time looking at more of them). among others, I noticed dave revellia's work. talk about amazing. the guy specializes in figure painting that will blow your mind. and his dockside boat building diorama is just beyond about anything you've seen. I had the good fortune of seeing it in person a couple of years ago at the craftsman show and believe me it's even more impressive in person if that's possible. take a good look at it.

jerrman

jerrman...yes I am familiar with the work these guys especially Troels are doing including that build by Fred Testard...this is the happy hunting grounds for world class modelers...more people should be aware of these, but aren't.

Yes Todd...this stuff is all consuming, beyond anything you have ever imagined in model building....enjoy and learn...I know I sure do.

Bob

I can't get over how well all those buildings flow together; he's done an exquisite job of modeling!

Todd

One thing I'm very curious of is the sky backdrop. I haven't perused all of the posts yet, but could you tell me if Troells has shown any tips on doing a similar background?

Neil

Neil, I've read every word Troels has written on the subject of painting, and model building. One thing must be realized here, he is a well seasoned and very successful professional artist with many many years of experience in landscape painting among other categories. There is no simple way to replicate his artistry through simple conversation unfortunately. I would suggest you take the time to very carefully follow his building of the Coast Line RR as described in those 5 thread links I posted above, and try to gain what you can for it. I consider it a master class in finishing without equal. It will definitely change your view of models and finishing.
