I have been gone from the forum for a while, lost all my Atlas O track in my divorce (left it with my children). Getting back into O gauge with new house mate.
Wonder if there is any way to use three 36 inch Fastrack switches to make a wye?  Was going to go Fastrack rather than Atlas O for new layout.
Also, anyone have the track plan for a wye using two 36 inch switches and a 72 inch wye switch?

Thanks for the help..... it is good to be back!

Robert

Here's a really small one using the wye switch.

6-12014 Straight Track (10") 1
6-12015 Curved Track 036 (45° Section) 2
6-12023 Quarter Curved Track 036 (11.25° Section) 2
6-12025 Straight Track (4 1/2") 1
6-12045-X 036 Remote Left Switch without 1/4 Curve (10" Straight) 1
6-12046-X 036 Remote Right Switch without 1/4 Curve (10" Straight) 1
6-12047 072 Remote Wye Switch with 1-3/8" Extensions (22.5° Wye) 1
6-12073 Straight track (1 3/8") 2

Hey Moonman, I've been good thanks. My drawing was done using RailModeller, which has been accurate so far. Yours has the wye without extensions. Mine is using the wye with extensions. I get the same one as yours if I put the wye in with no extensions. I do like SCARM, I just haven't put it on this machine. I bet if you put extensions on the wye, it will be the same. I haven't noticed any differences in accuracy on either SCARM or RailModeller.

Thanks for the clarification. I saw the parts list had the extensions, but the photo didn't show them. I assume that they may be needed for roadbed clearance. Yours would be correct for the Wye. But, I now I get 18 5/8" between the top switches.

Has your layout been up an running? Any visitors like the O gauge?

Those SCARM drawings look great and are much easier to see and understand. Without the extensions that come with the switch, I think you'd have to trim the bed on the tracks coming out of the O72 wye switch. I've never had any problems with RailModeller, but now I'm doubting it. I'll have to compare and go at it with track.

Moonman: My modular Christmas layout was up and I have a big Tatami (no carpet here) Central running now. I'll post pics when I get around to it. Fastrack is less noisy on tatami than anything I've tried. I'm worried about corrosion, but no troubles yet. Those guys from Sodor showed up this year. They scared the **** out of us scale guys almost as much as the gateman.
