When you make it, what are you going to do with that?

Oh, I don't know, amaze your friends?
That is really cool Chris...thanks for posting it!

Pretty cool.
Oh I agree with the thread title alright. Even if I wanted too, I would not spend huge amounts of money to have a really first rate layout with some added cool features. Though I am not in any way shape or form downing those that do because in many respects, those that spend thousands of dollars on their layouts/railroads often inspire the rest of us to spend some cash as well.

I am always amazed at what's out there in the on-line video world.
I posted this a while back and it disappeared, obviously not close enough to a train. It was posted again a few days later, don't know if that thread is still around.
It is a pretty cool video.
Hmm, time for a McMaster-Carr order...
That is really cool! Unfortunately the thrill would be gone after about 5 minutes

"Unfortunately the thrill would be gone after about 5 minutes."
Not if you start collecting batteries painted in different road names.

I need to do a number 2!!!!
You could have a paper, or plastic wrap ready it to make look like a commuter "shooting the tube". Couple a car in. Made from a straw, add to the engine with thread
Neat little "engine" to show kids!

And think of all the different gauges! AAA, AA, C, D (what happened to A & B?) 9 volt might be tough.
I'll wait for a battery with a Belpaire firebox.
