zwc will not flash 5 times when zeroing the handles

hi, i repaired the handles with new metal bracket. zeroed the potentiometer with the handles. then tryed pushing the program button and turning on the power. red light is suppose to blink 5 times, mine stays red and doesn't blink. any ideas? how can i tell if i have one with the bad chip.

fixed. found purple wire to potentiometer broken off. soldered and programs fine now.
