So sorry to hear this. He was very knowledgeable about most of the eastern RRs and helped me quite a bit.
I hope his family is holding up thru this sad period.
He loved the B&O, and could not wait to get his hands on a T-3. At least he made it to see it delivered from Scott. God Bless. BF
One of my favorite forumites, he shared a lot of knowledge here. Condolences to his family and friends.
Aw, dang. "Death be not proud". A fine forumite...
Really sorry to hear this news. I'd followed his posts for years and always enjoyed his great store of B&O knowledge. Rest In Peace.

Has there been a published Obit for Kim Smith that we can view on line from a
Funeral Home or newspaper ? ?
There was an obit in the Washigton Post the other day. I think it only ran once. Will see what I can find.
EDIT:
Sorry to hear this. My condolences to his family. He'll be missed.
I am very sorry to hear this. I enjoyed his presence on this forum.
I wish his friends and family the best.
Boy, I know I'm gonna miss him. His love of all things B&O was right down my alley, me having been born and raised very near those "Wagon Top" rails.
54 is to soon to leave, too.
May your F units always be blue and gray, your cabooses wagon tops. and your
mikados have vandy tenders, and your CPL's read "clear"

RIP Chessie Man- you will be missed. A great guy in all regards.
I just found out, man this a bad year for losing great people, Chessieman alway took photos for us B&O fans who could not make it to York, took the E44 for me.l man who was way knowledgeable about the old B&O.
****, such a young age 54, it plan stinks, really stinks. May god be with him and his family.
rest in peace
My best buddy on the Wild Mary and I will miss him. Even though he fought the battle for over a year, he still left us too soon and too young. His knowledge base was unparalleled. God's speed and we'll see you down the line.

I just found this out, this is sad news.
I saw Kim the last time at York in October. I knew Kim was ill, but I am surprised to find out that he passed away so soon. I will miss Kim.
I met Kim on this Forum 12 years ago. Kim encouraged me to join the Crescent Model Railroaders. We ran trains together at the shows with the CMR, and I always enjoyed seeing Kim at York and TGIFridays occasionally, and reading his posts here.
Prayers sent for Kim and his family.
Rest in peace, my friend. You will be missed.

A really good OGR Forum friend. May he rest in peace.
So sorry to hear the news of his passing. I would of loved to have met him. When we were in business he was a very good customer. I remember a couple of years ago he invited my wife and I to spend thanksgiving with him and his family.
God Speed and May he have a high Ball all the way through! I remember him when I purchased some Bowser Roadrailers from him a couple of years ago off the OGR forum. IT took a while to get them but I still have them and now they are a bit more special to me at this time.
My deepest condolences to his family. May God bless them in this time of loss. I will miss Kim's posts, always a pleasure to read.
Sincerely
Frank
When ever I or somebody else had a question he was always there especially if it was about the B&O or anything related. He is now with the holy father, may he rest in peace.
