hmmm thinking outside the box.....Missouri Pacific Eagle boxcar......its a stretch. I know
rat
Maybe a United States Postal box car.
Maybe a box car from the forties for the war effort. Buy US Savings Bonds..........Paul
Freedom Train
A stretch I know, but it would be beautiful consist and a way of selling more units over time
A tribute to the Saint Louis Zoo? Final answer!
To quote Richard Dawson, survey says?
With the retirement of Walter I sure would like to see Menards venture into the passenger car arena. Anyone else with me on this?
Lord please Help me! If it is something I like I won't be able to buy it after paying for stuff at the GATS at Del Mar this weekend and the SDMRRM swap meet. Hopefully I will have some money after the weekend I already pledged to not buy anything this weekend but that won't happen.
Guess I start my Red, White, and Blue train, Mark? I was gonna buy some Grover 1056s but that won't happen till next year.
Thinking....................................................................................
Hmm, might suggest a dent in my wallet BTW looking at the pics of the new GN hoppers I see they lack "Built by Menards" on the side. Is this the new direction ?

Berra,
I'm not exactly sure why it wasn't included in the photo but the "Built by Menards" decal is indeed on the bottom right corner.

Ok, with me. The "Built by Menards" decal amuses more than bothers.
Something to do with Presidents Day maybe?
A painting on the outside of a build for a savings bonds or something advertisement
A device for devouring rodents that may try to cross the tracks when the operator isn't there.
Stephen Colbert commemorative boxcar.
Mark,
You are killing us with these hints. Like the art work.
Mark, something that Lionel, MTH and other manufacturers have done, put the "built by...." And the serial numbers. Is it possible to do that with your stuff or put the M from Menard's in a small font? Many people remove it off the car right when they get it, but I don't because I use it as advertising your trains and get younger people in the Hobby.
Thanks
I think Bobbyd is on the right track.
Sunday is Valentines Day and Monday THE DAY is President day.
That Bad *** Eagle ain't looking for candy I bet
Larry
As in the movie Field of Dreams...... if Mark and Menards build some things that have been mentioned here I will buy them like there is no tomorrow...............Paul
War Bonds?
More nose art??
Presidents's commemorative boxcars.

How about a Tractor to pull these trailers a flat with a couple on it would be nice Military type truck say from the 40's or 50's
Your new flat with trailer looks great. I believe you should do your flat and your trailer in several railroad names. I would love to see this done in multiple road names per week.
Mark,
Any plans to produce anything for Southern Pacific?
Thanks
Nick
Mark,
I just ordered one, looks great, another nice piece of Military Rolling stock from Menard's! Will fit right in with rest of my Military Train.

I agree with you Jim! My first reaction was this is great and then I thought why not other roads too! I never saw a TOFC I didn't like anyway!

Hi Nick,
Nothing at the moment. I'm sure it will be a possibility down the road though.

Nice but still waiting for one honoring Willy & Joe-the ground pounders, the grunts, the sharp end-the rifleman !!

Menard:
That was not a very "Frindly" answer!
Mark, how about Western Maryland hoppers?
Very Nice just might have to get some
Ordered one tractor trailer and panel cars
For guys and gals who want to enjoy O-Gauge trains without worrying about when their next paycheck hits their bank account, Menards is absolutely hitting it out of the park. I almost forgot what it's like to purchase whatever we want without somebody sticking it to us on price with each and every item. Is anyone in Lionelville listening???
At this rate, folks are gonna be leaving their "scale" interests in the dust, and return back to QUALITY 6464-style rolling stock and 15" passenger cars in no time at all. And I'm not talking about cheap-looking, inferior-quality products either. RMT produced some of the best ore cars around, and their products were priced to move. Menards seems to be heading in the same direction with some of their recent product announcements here -- which is like a breath of fresh air! Folks will eventually realize the tremendous premium being paid for some "other branded" products is just that... premium $$$ supporting a bloated expense base. I love, love, LOVE when other alternatives hit the market -- proving good quality offerings can be had without enthusiasts needing to support huge overhead expenses of other brands.

When I go into my local Menards store, I have to wonder about their commitment to O gauge as the counter is a mess, they have only Christmas leftovers. Do they plan to make trains a permanent part of the store? Sioux City has a metro area of about 140,000.
