Hey Mark, looks like another boxcar in the pipeline.
Bill T.
I would hope that it is a new National Steel Car built TTX Intermodal Container Car with that design on the side.
Andrew
There website has a box car with those markings. Its a nice looking car. Should sell well.
Hey Mark, how do I use previous rebate card and contractor rebates to purchase boxcars and buildings.

The rebate cards can only be used at their stores. Since most of the Menards stores don't carry the buildings and trains until the holiday season I save all my rebate cards until then. Through the year I build up quite a few of the rebate cards.

Nice looking box car. Not weathered and nice and crisp looking.
I'm passing on it just because I blew the budget for this week on a dozen of the UP boxcars, last week.

Tom,
Bill is correct. And yes, there will be an expanded selection of train stuff in the stores this holiday season. I'm not sure how many items there will be but it might be worth saving rebates for!

Quite honestly, I get e-mail rebates after I buy but I have never even opened the messages. Didn't know they were only good at stores (I'm several hundred miles from the nearest) so they do me little good. But no never mind: Menards' train stuff is enough of a bargain at its normal asking price.
Lee; I give my rebates to forum members that have a Menard's near them.

I'll check. If it does not have my name or any limitation on it, I could do that.
I have always liked this paint scheme. It is very eye catching. If you are running "O" Gauge trains, it would make a nice addition to your layout.
although I have not purchased all of the Menards trains stuff;
I no longer shop at HomeDepot or WalMart for other things and find myself shopping only at Menards!
I really appreciate your support of the O-gauge market!
Good looking box car.

Tom,
I completely forgot, if you place a special order at your local Menards you could use your rebate checks to purchase any of the train stuff available on menards.com!

Why would Home Depot sell a Menard's exclusive?

Nope, Home Depot is not into trains. If they were I would guess their only option would be Lionel or MTH during the Holiday Season.
Bill T
What era or year begun for Rail Box? I am guessing too late for my 1950s era.
Rail Box box cars show up around 1974.

Menards trains and buildings are as close as your mailbox. Go to their web site and place your order.

I'm impressed with everything about Menards internet site and service - they seem to really think things through from the customer standpoint the response, too.
particularly the e-mails they send: one after you buy, with a link to your purchase record that shows you status (being processed, ready to ship, shipped, etc.) and a link to FedEx or whatever to show you where it is and when it will arrive. All with just one e-mail and link - very convenient.

Thanks Jim. Well guess that places it a little too far forward of my time period. But then as others say "its your layout, run whatever you want..."

I agree! I like their shipping notification process quite a bit! I wish Amazon would do something similar!
Nice car, do you folks think you will ever do a 8000 gal. tank car? or a scale car?
John

John,
There may be a few tank cars in the works. That's all I can say about that!
-Mark the Menards Train Guy
I got an email yesterday from Menard's and I knew this would be an announcement later this week.
Oh my! I really, really need a batch of tank cars. Don't tease me here guys. Ideally something scale of close to it in 8,000 gallon post-war/1960s. I need a while train. Menard's prices would really help.
Oh, I hope. I hope!!!!!
It would be great if you folks would make a few tank cars and maybe down the road some flats with trailers.
Another great looking boxcar... Yup , its on order.....again.....
