Bowl-a-Rama: 275-9140 Lamont Lanes Bowling Alley ... Shop Now >

Bowling isn’t just a sport. It can be a fun hobby, an exciting family activity, and a great way to build team spirit at the factory or office. If you want a great time, exercise, and lots of laughs, a bowling alley is your number one destination! Now you can add this center of community fun to your O gauge railroad.

The basics: This fully assembled and decorated building has a 13-7/8-by-11-1/2-inch footprint. It measures 4-1/2 inches tall.

Lamont Lanes lighting requires power through a Menards® 4.5-volt power supply. You can use the 279-4061/4361, 4060/4362, or 4050. You can connect them through a plug on the rear of the building or from below with a drop-down plug..

Add-on items include an officially-licensed Plymouth Fury coupe with illuminated taillights[AK2], five figures (three outside and two inside), as well as Jack the German shepherd.

Interior details include simulated lanes, ball return hoods and racks, scoreboards, and tables and chairs for players to sit down and take a break.

Why you need this: This says "Bowlers Stop Here!" from the moment you look at it. The entry has Lamont Lanes proudly embellished in an art-deco style lettering. Wide windows on the front and left sides let you see the action on the lanes.

A quickly approaching customer walks past two giant bowling pins, seeming to stand guard beside the entrance. Inside to the left are three sets of tables and chairs. Straight ahead are two ball return hoods and a rack filled with a colorful assortment of balls.

The four alleys have that fine wood texture used in bowling alleys nationwide. They also have simulated dividers and gutters for those occasional bad rolls.

But you don’t just have to see it all through the front and side windows. Up on the roof are two HVAC units as well as a rooftop skylight that will attract your eye.

Peering down you’ll see four scoreboards mounted on a beam running over the lanes. And yes, all the lanes have pins at-the-ready for Friday night bowling league action. You’ll also have a great view of the tables and even interior wall texture!

One final artistic detail is a three-dimensional sign on the right side. It portrays nine pins being rocked by a bowling ball! The slogan "Go Bowling" is emblazoned in red - almost a command, not a suggestion!

Lamont Lanes is a great rendering of a small-town bowling alley, but one with the latest design features. No doubt the townsfolk of your train city would love you to add this fun spot!

SPACE . . . the final frustration.

These are voyages of the ...

I like that line; very appropriate! I share that space problem. This is another good-looking and unique Menards building I'd like to have on my layout along with the Rocket Diner, Texaco station, and others, if I had the space. Menards is very creative to include the skylight, although if I bought it, I'd add a removeable roof cover.

I love bowling so I had to order this and it's on it's way!

Also ordered Jack's Hobby Shop, Arby's Restaurant, Amtrak Station and several colors of the 1958 Plymouth Fury.

I tried ordering the Menardsville Train Station but they won't ship it to California because of "recent changes in Proposition 65 (California nonsense) this product is restricted from being sold to the state where your shipping address is located."  Also got that message when trying to buy the Santa Fe box truck.  I thought they fixed this issue already.
