I’m NOT picking on MTH, but why does this coupler have SO many parts? I have a pair of Premier boxcars with similar but not EXACT problems. The issue is definitely related to the self-centering feature of the coupler. It’s not centering. The real issue is that the coupler wants to angle upward (NOT DROOP). I’m a capable DIYer. I’ve been fixing/improving my trains for long enough to repair this issue without replacing the trucks.
I’d really like a diagram or exploded view of the assembly.
I bought these cars used like most of my collection. That’s why I know so much about fixing trains. I’m worried some BUBBA tampered with the coupler and put it together wrong. Notice how the coupler on the brown car(20-93013) is higher than the coupler on the blue(20-93142)? It’s at a funny angle. Neither cars properly self center. Please, help.
