Pete, they did come with cruise. They still had 2 chuffs with a switch. They were able to be converted to programmable chuffs like MTH. I did mine but can’t remember exactly what had to be done. Gary [superwarp ] years ago posted a step by step how to do it. The only engine I know of that came from the factory this way. Was the Tank engine.
Mario, nice videos. One of my favorite engines.

Thanks!  It does indeed have the stock electronics and was right from the box.

It is one of my new favorites, as well!

Maybe @superwarp1 wouldn't mind posting a link; I was thinking of 3D printing a 2-piece lobe that would go over the axle just like the stock ones.  I don't really use smoke, my wife won’t let me smoke in the house!

Update: I've ordered a short drawbar from a Hudson to see if it’ll fit. If not, I’ll make it!

Thanks!

Mario, I believe the fix involved moving or removing one wire on a terminal and soldering 2 together. Everything is there to do it. You no longer need the chuff switch. It may not be dead on perfect. But pretty close to 4.  You can play with some programmable settings. What you may experience. Is the original generic Railsounds sound okay with 2 chuffs. I don’t think they sound as good with 4. Seeing they are closer together. Still better than 2. I added a Railsounds 5 to mine. Believe it was from a Mohawk. Not quite Legacy. But much better.

You read my mind!

@Norton and I have been discussing which Mohawk Railsounds to use!  I just wish Lionel was open to ship them!

I'm also thinking of switching over to a giant Tang Band speaker, too.

Oh man you guys are testing my memory.  I’ve long dumped the Kline cruise in my berkshires, both have drop in EOB boards and I’ve changed the railsounds from the generic 4.0 to Mohawk railsounds 5.0

my advise, would be to replace the Kline electronics with ERR.  The Kline cruise are not known for their reliability

Mario,  what are you using for a tether ?    The close coupling makes a huge improvement.

I "had" to make a new one, as the 90deg angle on the old one was just not cutting it.  The thread where I got the ideas and the materials list is here: K-Line Mikado Tender Tether
