Has Lionel cancelled their 50% parts sale? I don't see it advertised on their website.
I know they cancelled the Warehouse sale, but at that time the 50% parts sales was still listed.

No indication that the parts sale is off. I don't recall them really advertising it in years past.
Parts sale is on
Do you have to call in your order or can you place it online (I do have an account).
If you can place it online, can you place your items in the cart today and check out during the sale (Sep 24 to 26)?
PAULP,
Yes you can put items in your cart and then submit. I have had my items in cart from about July. They will deduct the 50% off at checkout. Don’t for get that they will charge at least 10 bucks shipping.

Not sure what you are saying when you say "... put items in your cart and then submit". Is that shop now; put items in cart; then wait for sale days to checkout?
I've got about 10 parts I'm trying to find. Plus 22 end caps with diaphragms for my American Freedom Train cars.
sale dates again?

Try reading this thread again. Someone posted links to everything you need to know above.
I have read the thread, I have created an account. Was just looking for a simple answer.

Then you would have seen the link to Lionel's posting with all the requisite information about the parts sale.

Hi PAULP,
If you create a My Lionel account then go to the Replacement Parts page. Search American Freedom in the search box, a number of products will come up. Scroll and find what one you need. Click on it and a exploded view of the parts comes up. Add to cart and site will save it for you, until you are ready to check out. Hope this helps.

Yes, that is exactly what laz is saying.

Fully understand what you said; been doing that for a couple years. Just wasn't sure if you could place parts in your cart and then checkout during 50% sale and save money. Some websites if you don't check out within a certain time, they automatically empty your cart.
As for AFT parts, I've looked at their exploded parts diagram and end caps with diaphragms are not available - at least from Lionel.
I'm trying to figure out if other Lionel 18" and 21" end caps with diaphragms will fit..
If you're worried about the card emptying, just take a screen shot every time you add something. That gives you a fallback if it disappears before you place the order. I do that all the time for Lionel orders.
How about the low tech approach and just write the part numbers down with pencil and paper? Works for me.

Pete,
I used to use your method, for many years in fact, until I ended up with many, many piles of small pieces of paper. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out which one my list was in when I needed to find it to place the order.
I go with John on this one. However I also save a text file, with the same name but a TXT extension, containing the text from the screenshot.
Use Windows Search I can find most anything this way.
Mike
I guess when you order once a year those paper scraps can pile up. I am ordering a few times a month so my pile is pretty small.
Pete
Unfortunately I had many piles because of many other things, not just parts orders or train stuff. Work used to get in the way too.
Paper still has one important advantage though -- you don't need power to use it.

Well, if I don't have power, I'm not worried about a Lionel order!
Isn't it amazing how much traffic a simple question that only needed an 8 keyclick response (**/**/**) generated. And i thought i had nothing to do.
