Last week someone gave me a Lionel # 182 crane. Seems that he didn't know the wireing was mostly gone. He gave it to me as another project. The motor ( a small dual wound one ) has all its wires torn off. Before I try to rewind the thing, does anyone know of a source for another one? I really don't look forward to trying to rewind the thing.

Train tender Jeff would be a good start. The motor doctor might be able to fix it as well. Their contact info can be found with a google search. I’ve used both many times, always speedy and excellent.
Already talked to Jeff at ttender. He doesn't have one. Cable isn't a problem, either. Just the motor: someone broke all the terminals (3) off of it. Right down below the surface of the winding. Lots of fun....
I believe that the 165 and the 182 use the same motor. Ebay is a good place to find junkers of both of these cranes.
