I finished the changeover from our Fall display to winter/Christmas this week.  In this scene the Broadway Limited meets the Empire State Express on the lower level while an SP freight passes by the park on the upper level.  This display stays up year round, changing with the seasons.  Christmas is my favorite of the four seasonal displays sponsored by my wife's collection of Department 56/Lemax buildings.

This family room floor layout was put together with my son, 13.  We have done a similar layout the last few years.  We have 2 MTH  powered loops, one around the room and a trolley loop in the city, Penn SD70 and Washington DC Trolley.  We have a third loop that is conventional with a Williams F3 ABA that goes around the tree and city.  Another new addition this year is that we did 2 sidings to hold our hoard of cars.  The dual sidings are behind the sofa.

The City is mix of Department 56 (Lionel Train shop, Christmas Tree stand, Carousel, and Church), a few lionel items (Water tower, Maiden Rescue station, and my Ardiuno modified Nutcracker gateman), and a Lemax Nutcracker ballet), and various figurines, including the Frozen cast and Us Presidents.

My wife gives me the room for about a month or so to play trains.

As a note, it took my son and I about 60 or so hours of getting the layout planned, installed, wiring done, trouble shooting, then building the city.

Enjoy
