Last night and today I converted the gunmetal 259E to kit form. Here it is, ready for cleaning , stripping and painting
Several steps to getting it all together.
- The smoke box front base is from the black 259, the green lenses and one classification light from the gray engine and one classification light from the 258 to replace one that was unfixably bent.
- Main rods and crankpins from the older engine.
- Swapping the badly bent right of the side stamping for one from the black engine.
- A lot of metal bending on the cab, cylinders and body to get all in line.
- Pilot truck that was attached to that unknown set of cylinders in that random parts collection.
- Trailing truck on Ebay.
