I've seen them advertised in the OGauge magazine and I'm sure some of you guys are using them on your layouts. How do the ties attach to the rails? And, are the ties really plastic?

They lay under the rails, with the tie-plates accepting the bottom flange of the track. When you screw down your track, they will not move at all. The material is a rubbery soft plastic. You can twist and bend them. They have wood-grain, and tie-plates with spikes molded in. The "O" Gauge ties are black, and the "O-27" are brown.
Hope this helps!

Thank you.
I glued mine down with clear silicone adhesive caulk. The caulk holds them in place, but it's easy to twist one to remove it. I'm using o27 track, and use 6 to 8 ties per piece (6 for straights and 27" curves and 8 for 34" and 42" curves.

Here's where you can buy them--- 3 R Plastics I hot glue them to the underside of the rail--works fine for me. They look like this under the rails...
