Just recently purchased a 3rd rail Q2 which I’ve been trying to acquire one for a decent price to upgrade for a while. This one has a few cosmetic defects already (plus a few more added by UPS of course 🙄) so I feel like giving this a go at trying to upgrade some way somehow. Not entirely sure how I feel about the blunami on this yet and checking as of today it’s out of stock but I’ve had experience working with a MTH S2 that I upgraded with ERR cruise my only question in doing this was the articulated sound set has a big boy whistle where I would want something like a pensy 3 chime.
I have a pensy M1A legacy with the proper sound set that I would like to have in this locomotive (chuff may be a bit off vs a duplex) but is there anyway to put that sound set with a cruise commander board or is it worth it to sacrifice the M1’s components and make this legacy? I could just as easily convert that to err cruise to have a usable engine as well being as it’s something I don’t run often.
Ultimately I know I’m doing this so Lionel comes out with a vision line version in the next catalog but that’s neither here nor there. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
