5 volt 14.000 mAh power supply
I picked up one of these on black Friday at Office Depot for $15.00 for my phone and tablet.
Then I got thinking there must be some thing on the layout it may be useful for. 6 volt led’s?
Any ideas what else could be used for?
The project box I used is way to big but that’s what I had on hand.

I'm not sure why you'd even consider a battery for lighting on the layout. No matter what the capacity, it will still require charging periodically, not to mention in a few years, replacement. A cheap DC power supply can be had for peanuts and will drive dozens of LED's and it'll never need to be recharged or replaced. 
You are right of course, but with time on my hands I just like to play around with stuff.
