A few years back I bought my first used standard gauge engine that I restored but the old motor quit and I put it up on a shelf and that was it.I decided to give it a new life but not as a running engine but a dummy. I removed the old motor and gears so it would turn free and put it to work as a dummy engine. It also looks good sitting on a siding or as my newest creation a load for a flat car. Here are some pics.

That was a great idea Chris, when I found my grandfathers # 38 tucked up in the rafters of his basement it too was a dummy. The compound gear was removed and the pick up was wired up. The loco was a mess but I was able to restore her and she runs quite well now.
I like that model and you did a great job on it!
