A question for Fastrack Fans

They make O31 Fastrack, but I have not yet seen O31 Switches and I heard rumors of O27 FasTrack is coming.

Maybe try downloading a free trail of AnyRail track planning software and play around with what you can make fit into your available space.

For O27 your only easy choice now is traditional tubular, of which there is a plentiful supply.

Lionel offers O31 FasTrack curves, but no matching switches at this point.  I can't imagine that they would even consider offering the system in O27 (which would involve not only the curves, but straight sections and switches as well if it was true O27 (lower rail profile, etc.).

As noted above, regular O27 tubular track is still available in rather plentiful supply.

A recent announcement states that O-31 switches are on the way!...don't know when, but the part numbers are:

81251 031 RH Manual

81252 031 LH Manual

81253 031 RH Rem/Comd.

81254 031 LH Rem/Comd.

So, if you can wait a while, and can use O31, you're in business!

Well thanks people. I am not in a rush, so I will wait a while and probably go for 0-31 Fastrack curves and 0-36 switches.  I'll see what I can do in my very limited space available.

For Alan.  I was thinking0-27 curves but in the existing height and style of Fastrack.  i'e', inner oval of 0-27 and outer of 0-31 or 0-36

Being O31 doesn't fit in O36 with FasTrack, I'm willing to say O27 wouldn't fit in O31, so plan on O27 and O36.  But I haven't heard anything about O27 FasTrack coming.

Since Fastrack O-31 curves don't fit inside Fastrack O-36 curves what I had to do due to lack of space in two areas I had to use a pair of Fastrack Transition 5" pieces mated to MTH Realtrax Adapter 5" pieces and MTH O31 curves to make my inside curves work. Yes the MTH Realtrax does fit inside the Fastrack O-36 curves. One thing I did find that the Fastrack transition piece and the Realtrax adapter pieces did not want to stay together. Since I don't screw my track down I just super glued the two pieces together at the 4 places I needed them for the 2 set of curves and no more problems. Just a option.
