Heres one I just finished. I think the volume of smoke here is more prototipical to what a real burning switch tower would have. All the burning switch towers I've seen in the past smoked more like maybe the trash can was on fire instead of the whole switch tower

Holy smokes! What kind of smoke unit did you use?
I'm not sure who origianaly made the units. I bought a whole box full at a train show and the dealer said they all were non working. No name or numbers on them to speak of. I just repair them then reconfigure the boards and ramp the fan to do what I want it to do.
