A Visit to the Foley Alabama Railroad Museum Layout

More info: The club runs strictly MTH trains and MTH DCS for control. The power is supplied by three Z-4000's running three TIU's with all channels in fixed mode. They have several DCS handhelds so any members present can run trains.

They don't sound interested in morphing to wifi or iphone, ipad, or tablet control. No WTIU's here.

Wow!  Rod, That is a fantastic layout!  Thank you for the great photographs and bringing the Foley Museum to the attention of frozen Northerners like me!!!

Looks like a good prospect for a full feature in the magazine, if one of the members is interested in putting something together.

I'll contact them tomorrow during their running session and suggest this idea to them.

I visited on the way to Gulf Shores.  15 miles or so to Gulf Shores.  They were having a 2 day train show and our van needed to stop.  Great show. Awesome layout and super people.

Just curious; when was their show?

Sorry.  About 10 Years ago for our trip.  Saw signs out front and stopped.

Glad to hear that you stopped there Rod, the whole facility is a really nice set up. Their static displays are very good as well.
