I thought I would share one of my favorite York photos from years past. There are many smiling faces in this photo, but my eyes turn to the smiling face of our dear departed friend, Owen Strum, wearing his trademark cap.....I am poorer because of his absence.....but, I rejoice in the knowledge that he is in a far better place!
Owen, I cannot go to York without thinking of you and the good times in years past. I just know that he will be smiling down on us!

The last time I spoke to Owen was outside of the Purple Hall. He always had a smile and a friendly "hello".
He was always a highlight of both York and Allentown. To this day, there is still a part of me that expects to see him around the next corner at a train show.

A repeat Owen story: he and I always stayed at the same hotel in Lancaster during the York meet. As soon as he found out from then on he always left some type of message at the desk for me - typically humorous, always something personal.
Miss him and his notes!

Owen was the first to greet me and introduce himself at my first Thursday at Friday's. I can't even begin to count the number of conversations we had since then. He is definiely missed.
I think all of our lives are richer for having known him.

Thank you for that picture Peter. Fond memories. It is because of Owen that I started going to York. Miss my friend.
Those of us who knew Owen sure realize what we are missing.
Always a smile on his face. We miss ya buddy.
Great guy and missed. He and Locolawyer were over to my house to run trains a couple of weeks before he died. We had a great time. So sad.
