I am immensely enjoying my layout and will be expanding . It is fastrack. When I start to expand i want a way to keep a third train on the track. I have 2x separate loops. outer is 84 and inner is 060. I want a switch off to side to have a engine sit on so i can put it on track while backing the other in.

First question, my layout is fastrack and was wondering should I stick with that for switch. Second question is can DCS let me have 2 active engines on same track. say one engine on one end of layout, i back out the 3rd train pull it around, then the other pulls up and backs in. sorry if my post is confusing; guess i want someone to tell me it can work before i go start buying stuff. I hear great things about Ross custom switches as well, not sure if i can incorporate with fastrack.

If you are 100% Fastrack now....stick with it. While Ross switches are GREAT, have them myself,  adapting them to Fastrack will be a pain. Now if you want to change all your track....go Gargraves and Ross. Command control is not my area....but as I understand it you can have many different locos addressed separably, each then controlled on the same track.

I jumped into the Fastrack switch world for the first time this season.  I have all Fastrack O72 tracks and have an inner and outer oval around the Christmas tree.  I bought Fastrack O72 Left hand and Right (6-81953, 6-81952) switches to connect the ovals.  I also have the 990 Command remote.  Really slick!!  I use the remote to manually control each switch and also have set up a 'Route' on the remote to throw both switches at the same time.  If you do not have the remote, the supplied remote control blocks can be used to throw the switches manually and are well lit to show the position of the switch.  As was stated above, the little lantern on each switch can be easily bumped off its base but a drop of Elmers Rubber Cement holds them in place well. Happy Camper.
