Hi, you might try EBay search. American flyer solid wire
good luck but why solid wire?
I want to use as much original wire/parts etc on my prewar loop
Check the Train tender. He has cloth covered solid wire in various colors. http://ttender.com/partslist.html

I get the solid cloth covered push back wire, in several sizes and colors, from Jill at:

I used this vendor to record a 1934 Lionel Jr. transformer. It is modern stranded wire with a modern insulating sheath that is covered with cloth. The plugs are bakelite looking, but are modern plastic
Search their products with the menu to see if they have what you need. They have various gauges.
Rhode Island wiring service......they sell and make auto wiring harnesses. Wire and connectors. Teens on up.
Consider vintage wire and supply, that's where I get all my fan restoration wire from:

Henning's has some. I bought mine at Chuck's Trains. I used solid core wire. That is what the original was.
You should also get some black, cloth friction tape from Home Depot.

My supplier in the orange hall at York who makes up the 4-wire cloth covered stranded harnesses for S gauge locos also has single stranded cloth covered wire. I bought 10 ft from him on Friday (no, I’m not sharing). Don’t recall his name, but I’ve been buying from him for years.
