I have a Polar Express ready to run set 6-30218. The engine and tender do nothing when powered up. The remote turns on and in the stationary position it lights up. Forward it blinks, reverse it blinks. No sounds of any kind (horn, bell, etc). But does nothing. I spoke to lionel and they said it sounds like a bad board in the engine. Would anybody be able to tell me which board it would be? I could put the board in. I thought it might be the remote, but it passes all the remote tests. Would Brassier sell me the board?

The main PCB for this locomotive is available directly from Lionel. Link and part number are here> cs-691LNCF048-p

Steve, thanks for your reply and I will look into obtaining the part. I think Lionel is out of stock at this time. If you can suggest someone else to purchase from please reply. Thanks, Brian

I would figure out WHY the old board failed- example failed drawbar wiring to the speaker given this is Lionchief- before slapping a new board into the engine and blowing it up again because the root cause problem was not fixed.
The #1 killer of these Lionchief boards is a drawbar wiring failure. All it takes is for the wire to break at the solder joint, there is no strain relief and it touches the metal of the drawbar injecting track power up the speaker lead into the board.
