Just a quick word of thanks to Alex and a quick story on how he was able to straiten out what could have been a bad decision...

Two weeks ago at York I bought my first command equipped Lionel steam engine a B&O EM1 (6-11340) I'm new to TMCC and probably should have gone with a smaller locomotive but I talked myself into this purchase based on price and cosmetic condition. I bought it second hand form a dealer in the Orange hall .

I placed it on the layout after unpacking from the trip on Saturday,it loaded right into my DCS remote and I was impressed by the sounds and whistle steam effects.I sent it around slow for the first loop to check for clearances and when I saw I had no issues I then ran it a little bit faster to get the feel of the loco...the sounds were crisp and clear and the operation was extremely smooth ! The loco was about to make its 3rd trip around when it went into the first curve and came to a abrupt halt !!! A wisp of white smoke came from under the cab and right there I knew I had made a huge mistake buying this thing...

I thought about what I should do and then I remembered some of the great posts and accolades from forum members about Alex and his ability to fix these things.I dropped him a email and he called me a hour later. We live close to each other so we worked out a time to drop it off. I dropped it off on Monday night and I had it back a week and a half later on Thursday night completely fixed !!!

When I picked it up Alex explained every part of the repair and also what else he did in the way of general maintenance (seems this engine was well used) and also explained what caused the short that cooked the board.

Just wanted to publicly thank him and the other forum members who have spoke so highly of him.

I am glad he is here to help us !!!
