These images, by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. The photographs are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.

Those are really interesting photos.  Thank you for sharing.

I read about a similar project of photos from the 1970s that is currently on display somewhere in Washington DC that really captures that decade.

Question for you.....is that Pabst Blue Ribbon sign as big as it looks or does the camera angle create an optical illusion?

Santa Fe VA, i AM GOING TO POST AN ENLARGED PICTURE OF THE Rail yard and the PBR sign. To me it looks like a low traffic bridge crosses the rail yard and the PBR sign looks to be supported off this bridge structure. If you look at the tops of the box cars it looks like the bridge is 3 boxcars+a little away from the camara. So the PBR sign is in the near ground but is a big sign. Miller Eng sells a lighted model of this sign and is really a cool sign.
