I have a friend that is trying to put together a very old American Flyer Standard Gauge Locomotive that came out of an old box. He has new wheels for it, but does not know the exact width that they should be apart. Can someone on here answer the question as to the inside width of the outer tracks? This way he will find out how far to press the wheel flanges together. And yes this is a 3 rail track he says. I am clueless. If you want to contact me, see my personal info on my account. Thanks in advance.

Lionel Standard Gauge and American Flyer Wide Gauge are the same: 2 1/8". This is for the inside gauge and not rail center to center.

Hope this helps.
