American Flyer Standard Gauge inside track width ?

I have a friend that is trying to put together a very old American Flyer Standard Gauge Locomotive that came out of an old box. He has new wheels for it, but does not know the exact width that they should be apart. Can someone on here answer the question as to the inside width of the outer tracks? Lionel Standard Gauge and American Flyer Wide Gauge are the same: 2 1/8". This is for the inside gauge and not rail center to center.
