I have deleted my previous post, hope that this will be better, jeepers I wish I knew more about computers.
I have eliminated a topic that should have been here in the first place and move that post here.
As has been mentioned on the forum previously I have a layout that uses original AF track. The IMRR North Prairie division has a good amount of motive power, including post war Flyer, Flyonel, both conventional and TMCC/Legacy plus some American Models and S Helper. I had found in trying to run the A.M. consists through the Flyer switches on my cross-overs was a problem. These locomotives whether coupled with the dummy couplers or the Kadee couplers couldn't negotiate the cross-overs, and this is unacceptable. I found the solution to be quite simple, just go back and look at what Mr. Gilbert did with the first PA/PB combinations, the simple drawbar. My solution uses a 2-56x3/16" round head screw in the A unit going through a piece plastic or fiber cut to size mimicking the spacing of f the Kadee couplers. On B I used a longer 2-56 screw and cut off the head, making it a pin on one end and doing on the other end as l did on the A-unit. The trailing A-unit received the longer screw with the head removed. By using the pin on one end of each unit made for easier assembly and disassembly of the consist. I found also by narrowing the arm of the dummy coupler on the trailing A-unit all the derailing of the following car was eliminated.
